So … it happened again.

And this time you’re wondering if its the last time.

Another client came to you, wanting another small task for too little money.

Yes it pays the bills. But leaves you unfulfilled, with no path to a financially rewarding business that not only challenges you. And fully taps into your skills.

But actually gives you a future!

But how do you make that leap?

How do you break your attachment to safe but unrewarding small ticket work and finally build a sustainable revenue foundation you can actually scale?

If you’re there now (or headed in that direction) here are three steps to put your mind at ease. And start putting more money in your pocket:

Decide on your high ticket offer

This must be something that:

1.  Solves an important problem for your ideal client.

2.  Creates an outcome that client ALREADY wants, values and aspires to.

3.  That they are willing to pay a hefty sum for.

If any of the three are missing, things fall apart.

Coming up with the right mix is hard.

It can be even harder making the psychological leap. Because its so easy to get sucked into the safety of easy money (even if it’s not enough).

Here’s a tip that will make it easier.

Take a sheet of paper and divide it into three collumns:

  • What you do well (on the left side).
  • Big outcomes your ideal client wants, values and aspires to (in the middle).
  • The kinds of outcomes that are already commanding big money in the marketplace (on the right).

Finding the place where these intersect – where there is a match between all three – is a great place to start.

Have a plan in place to make the transition

This won’t be done overnight. So don’t put pressure on yourself by expecting it to.

Too many entrepreneurs kill themselves with sky-high expectations.

They believe they will make the switch cold turkey, and are crushed when results don’t happen instantly.

HOT TIP 1:
Results only happen instantly in YouTube ads.

Calibrate your expectations to the real world. This usually means a 3-6 month (or longer) transition. Unless you already have resources or connections in place to make it faster.

And it usually involves some kind of conversion event or series of events that creates buzz and funnels a critical mass of interested ideal prospects into the offer.

This usually means:

A launch.

A challenge.

An event.

A series of speaking gigs.

HOT TIP 2:
It’s usually sky-high expectations that create the emotional crash that leads to giving up or retreating when things don’t break your way.

The biggest cause of disappointment is unmerited expectations. It’s great to have big goals. It’s great to expect a lot of yourself.

And …

Fulfilling those expectations takes time.

If you know you have a solid plan in place, give yourself the breathing room to make the course corrections and adjustment to see it through.

Craft an offer so seductive, it’s nearly impossible to resist

You don’t craft a  seductive offer with pretty words, clever tag lines or a trendy program name.  (Trust me: been there / done that).

You do it by matching the offer to what your clients want most.

Remember the three keys we looked at back in step one? There were all about knowing your market.

The most valuable thing you can have in your business are market insights because when you know what your market truly wants, and you can position your offer directly in front of that desire, you are much MORE likely to succeed.

For most of us, that’s not easy. Because we’re so wrapped up in what we want them to buy, we’re blinded as to what they want to buy.

Instead of giving them what they dream of, we’re giving them what we dream of.

Which is a fast ticket to no clients.

A seductive offer mirrors the exact things your ideal client is searching for.

So when they see it –  they KNOW it.

Everything else on the market will look like a cheap imitation because they will feel like you’ve created the offer just for them.

To sum it up:

When you are able to make clear effective decisions on:

  • What the most seductive high ticket offer would be.
  • A plan (with expectations in check) to transition from your nickel-and-dime business model to a high ticket sustainable business model,
  • And a seductive offer, that mirrors the exact solution your ideal client is already searching for

You are well on your way to break free from the Overworked / Underpaid Treadmill. And instead embrace a business that actually supports you, instead of the other way around.

On the way there you will have to be willing to turn down the lower paying kinds of work you’ve been taking on.

Which can be really challenging.

But realize it’s a small down payment on the money you want to make and the life you want to live.

And one more thing …

If you’re interested in more ways to connect with high-end clients, I’ve created a guide, that lists 21 places to find your ideal high end clients. Who not only have the money to pay you, but are already looking for you. You can access your own copy of the guide right here.

A bunch of you already have it. Congratulations! And if you don’t, you’re just seconds away from getting it.

And … HOT NEWS!

We’re working on an updated version of the Guide, with even more effective ideas.  If you’ve already opted in for it, or do that now, you’ll be notified as soon as the new one is released!
