It’s OK to come right out and say it:

Creating a spot-on title on the spot is hard.

And if you want to bump your business up a notch (and I know you do) it’s a “need” that never ends.

And while clients never buy your title, a great one will make it alot easier for you to:

  • Get noticed
  • Make an impression
  • Be remembered.

And at the end of a long day, under deadline pressure (when you always try to come up with titles) you just don’t seem to have any hook juice left.

Which is why you’re  going to want to bookmark this post:  “Hook Juice”

Its a cool hack I discovered, using a few free but little known sites on the web.

For me, it usually starts with a client request that goes something like this:

“I’m thinking of launching a challenge on using Facebook Live to get clients.  I need a great title for it. And I don’t have any ideas.”

And for a lot of us, this is where it bogs down. Because we believe we have to come up with a great, hooky title right out of our heads.

And the WORST thing you can do is try to come up with a greak hooky title off the top of your head.

What you do want to do is this:

    “HOOK JUICE” STEP

    The Key Elements

The first step is remarkably un-creative. And involves isolating the key elements.

So for this title, the key elements (what this entire launch is built around) are “clients” and “Facebook”.

Very simple. Very obvious. Very un-sexy. Yep that’s how it begins.

But in order to build a great title, I need to know what I’m building my title around.

Because the next thing I want to do is build a title structure that will create a powerful magnetic pull around these key words.

    “HOOK JUICE” STEP

    Create the Title Structure

Now that I have the key elements I am going to build my titles around, I want to create a basic structure for each title.

Because that allows me to drop in hooky magnetic words that create the attention I want and position the outcome so people want to sign up for it.

So … we’re going to keep this simple. (Remember … it’s the end of the day, and you’re pooped.)

    Structure 1:   _____________   Facebook  _____________.

    Structure 2:   _____________   Client  _____________.

NOW, we’re going to go a little Ninja and pump up the volume with the help of a few free easily accessible online resources.

    “HOOK JUICE” STEP

Create a List of Awesome Words

So what I want to do now is create a rhythm for my titles by finding words:

That start with “F” (to go with my Facebook Title)

And that start with “C” (to go with my Client-focused Title)

While clever, rhythmic titles won’t by themselves boost your Yes-rate, they can when they are combined with a hot outcome your ideal clients want.

So we are going to do that with the help of our good friend Google.

Since we’re looking for positive words that start with the letters f and c, we’re going to do a search for:

Positive words that start with F:

And Positive words that start with C:

And guess what? There are scores of sites that will give you just that! Could you ever have even imagined!

Not all the words listed on these sites will be a match. But you will be able to make a great start!

Positive words that start with F:

    fab
    fantastic
    fearless
    famous
    fierce
    first-class
    five-star
    foolproof
    flawless
    foundation
    for real
    full-blown

Positive words that start with C:

    captivating / captivate
    catalyst
    classic
    compelling
    complete
    confident
    connection
    conquest
    conversion
    collective
    creative
    crucial

So inserting a few of the best in our two structures, we now have:

    Structure 1:

    Fearless Facebook  ____________.
    Five-star Facebook  ______________.
    Flawless Facebook ____________.

    Structure 2:

    Captivating Client  ____________.
    Compelling Client ____________.
    Confident Client  ____________.

But we still need to fill in what comes after. So it’s time to:

    “HOOK JUICE” STEP

    Search for More Words

So to fill in the second blank, we’re really looking for a noun.  If you remember 7th grade English, a noun is a person, place or thing.

So we’re going to (you guessed it!) search for:

Positive nouns that start with F:
(you will find tons of sites to help you with that)

    fame
    fascination
    forever
    foundation
    fortune
    freedom
    fountain
    funnel
    formula

Positive nouns that start with C:
(you will find tons of sites to help you with that as well)

    crew
    campaign
    cornerstone
    champion
    classic
    close
    closing
    confidence
    conversion / conversions
    cash

So keeping things simple, and adding your new discoveries to our existing title structure options, we have:

    Structure 1:

Fearless Facebook Fame (if your challenge is focused on visibility).
    Five-star Facebook Freedom Formula.
    Flawless Facebook Funnels.

    Structure 2:

    Captivating Client-to-Cash Campaigns.
    Compelling Client Closing Keys.
    Confident Client Conversions.

Cool, huh? But we’re not done!

    “HOOK JUICE” STEP

    It’s Improv Time!

What happens now, when you’re in the flow, and you suddenly have so many great words and options at your fingertips, is that you go on a tear. And begin combining elements from Structure 1 and Structure 2:

    Facebook Fortune Client Conversion Secrets
    Facbook Funnel Fortunes
    Facebook Client Conversion Formula
Client Closing Confidence with Facebook Live

(And as a final step be sure your title doesn’t infringe on / duplicate a title someone has already chosen for their program.)

So … your problem is no longer coming up with a catchy title. But which one do you choose?

The key is not trying to do this in your head. But doing it step-by-step. And using these supercool word-finding sites to do a lot of the heavy lifting for you!
